JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Isla Samere Lusk is a seventh grader at JCS and loves horseback riding. Isla said, “Horseback riding is my favorite thing to do after school.” She rides in Ranch Colony (near Jupiter Farms).
Most kids may have spent their time inside or playing with friends, but Isla spent her whole summer horseback riding. Isla has one horse, two cats, a hamster, and a dog. She is very kind, confident, and funny. She loves to treat her horse with carrots. Isla said, “I fell in love with Mysty the first time I rode her.”
Isla has lived in many different states, including New York, Ohio, and Florida. When Isla is riding, her favorite things to do are cantering and jumping. You might be wondering what cantering is. Cantering is going a little faster than a trot. Although horseback riding is her favorite activity, Isla does have other interests. She used to play softball, and her favorite sport to watch is baseball. She likes to cheer for the Yankees. Her favorite color is pink; she even has a pink halter for Mysty. Isla also reports that she “enjoys volunteering at the stables twice a week.” Her favorite verse is Proverbs 21:31, “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”
Isla has a strong faith in the Lord and uses the talent God gave her to worship Him. What talents did the Lord give you? How can you use them to worship Him? Thank you Isla for letting us interview you.
