JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – This year at JCS has brought many new teachers to the school. However, some teachers such as Ms. Boshammer, have returned to the school.
Ms. Boshammer has been working as a business teacher for the past five years. Before that she was working in the corporate world. After her company sold, Ms. Boshammer felt that she was called by God to “have an impact in someone else’s life,” so she decided to become a teacher in order to inspire a new generation.
Ms. Boshammer teaches in a way that keeps students engaged, often assigning projects, using presentations, finding real world implications, and watching interactive videos to keep students interested in the current subject. Ms. Boshammer always designs her classes so that they are challenging but fun so that students do not become stressed throughout the year. Ms. Boshammer often puts herself in the student’s position to see where she should go with the lesson. Doing this allows students to be able to understand key concepts and memorize them without having to reread past texts.
Ms. Boshammer enjoys interacting with the students and seeing if she can positively affect their life during her teaching. Ms. Boshammer stated that she wants to be a teacher that “makes things a little bit better and makes your day a little bit brighter.” Although some of her classes can be incredibly challenging, Ms. Boshammer has found that even her dual enrollment classes are engaged with the subjects put in front of them and she enjoys the hard work of the JCS student body.
Ms. Boshammer is grateful for the opportunity to teach at JCS and inspire students that have poor feelings towards school. Ms. Boshammer is looking forward to the rest of the year here at JCS where she can inspire many more students to follow their dreams.
