Year in Review: 2023-2024 MS Yearbook Class

Year+in+Review%3A+2023-2024+MS+Yearbook+Class

JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – The formation of the Middle School Yearbook took place throughout the 2023-2024 school year. In the class there were two 8th graders and six 7th graders. Everyone in the 2023-2024 MS Yearbook class worked hard to complete the Middle School and Elementary Yearbooks before they had to be submitted to be printed.

In the first quarter, we learned about photo skills that will help you take unbelievable pictures. These lessons were called Photo 5s. This was when Mr. Fields taught us how to do a certain skill when taking a picture, and then we would take five example pictures of that certain skill. Kiley Dore said, “Taking pictures was something fun we learned.” One thing that everyone in our yearbook class enjoyed was being able to bring our phone to class for yearbook interviews and lessons. We also learned about how to write captions and write questions for interviews. For every yearbook page we made or article we wrote, we had to interview people about it. Reese Rykse said, “I enjoyed interviewing people.”

In the second quarter, the formation of the Middle School Yearbook began. Mr. Fields taught us tips and tricks about how to make the pages in the yearbook. Our theme was CALLED, so we had to keep that in mind as we made the yearbook. We all began making the yearbook pages for any events and sports that happened during the Fall. On each page there was a main picture called a dominant photo which was usually an action photo. We had to have lots of regular pictures on the page too. Lastly, we had to write a 150-word article explaining what the event or sport was about. Mr. Fields also required us to put a main title about the page, a subtitle tying to our theme of CALLED, and we had to put our name and grade.

In the third quarter, we were nearly done with the yearbook. A last minute page Mr. Fields had to create was the R.E.A.C.H. Week page. Everyone was on R.E.A.C.H. Week so no one could make that page in time for the yearbook to be submitted. The MS Yearbook was finished and submitted on March 15, 2024.

In the fourth and final quarter, we submitted the Elementary Yearbook. On each page it’s like a collage. In that quarter we wrote articles for “The Beak” for four weeks. In May, we will be handing out the yearbooks. Then, the 2023-2024 school year will be over! Everyone worked hard to finish the year.  We hope you will enjoy the very first Middle School Yearbook!

If you were wondering if she has a British accent, no she doesn't. Outside of school Mia does gymnastics 6 days a week, everyday but Sunday, and in total she does it 20 hours a week. Mia has travelled A LOT, but one of her favorite places she went to was Belgium. Mia's favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 which says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." She goes to Christ Fellowship Church, where she volunteers every other week. Every other Sunday, she volunteer with the 2-5 year olds for 1.5 hours. One interesting fact about Mia is that she enjoys watching the Gators Gymnastics competitions. She knows lots of the gymnasts on the team. Last summer, Mia went to Gators Camp. This is where you meet all the gymnasts and practice where they practice. Everyone who went to their camp got to walk around UF together.
