NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE OFFICE – We are only a quarter of the way through the NHL season, and the Thanksgiving NHL prophecy has happened.
If the season ended today, there would be a few surprises.
1. New Jersey Devils
Firepower and goaltending are the reasons they are the Mount Everest of the NHL.
2. Winnipeg Jets
They have been slumping lately, but still have the stuff to be here.
3. Florida Panthers
Sure, the points don’t apply it, but they dominated Carolina and Toronto and have looked like the best team in the league at times.
4. Washington Capitals
Sure, they lost Alex Ovechkin, but they have still been scary dominant and have been one of the surprises of the NHL.
5. Carolina Hurricanes
They got dominated by the panthers, which means they dropped a few spots to number 5. They are still in the conversation for sure though.
6. Minnesota Wild
They are second in the Central Division, somehow. They are one of the best second place teams we will see this year.
7. Vegas Golden Knights
They lead the pacific division for a reason. Very Consistent. Always in the conversation.
8. Dallas Stars
They have been surging ever since they got dominated by Florida in the Finland Series. If they keep playing well, they will surely be higher than this.
9. Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs have the most points in the Atlantic Division, 1 point above Florida. Although, they get dominated by the big teams.
10. Tampa Bay Lightning
Still in the conversation. Not many teams are a better fit in the 10 spot than the Lightning.
