JCS History Corner
When JCS opened in September 1963, there were 15 young students. There was a great building and there was a wonderful teacher. What more was needed? The only thing missing the first month of school…playground equipment. Dads cleared a field across the street from the school and a family dropped off a refrigerator box. The students had to be creative, but had a great time playing with the box, even after it collapsed. The “real” playground arrived about a month after school started.
