JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Everyone at JCS enjoys Christmas time, but there is one student in particular who loves it more than the rest. Amelia McAlees is a 7th grader at JCS who loves the Christmas season. Amelia decorates for Christmas early and takes it down late. She loves seeing all the beautiful decorations up in her house for Christmas. Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus and how He came into the world.

Most people decorate after Thanksgiving, but few decorate before. Amelia is one of those people who decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. The day after Halloween is the day Amelia believes you should decorate. After I asked the question of why she likes Christmas so much, she said, “It’s a good time to spend time with family and bond with your friends.” Amelia spends lots of time with her family on Christmas. Her family loves the Christmas season and the Christmas spirit. She loves Christmas more than any of her family members. Lots of people enjoy Christmas all around the world.

When do you think you should decorate for Christmas and take it all down? Amelia McAlees decorates on November 1 and takes everything down in the second week of January. When I asked her why she likes her decorations up for so long she said, “So that it can last longer.” Amelia loves the Christmas spirit and seeing all of her decorations up for a long time. All the Christmas music, decorations, presents, and food is so much fun. Baking cookies is a fun activity that lots of families do together. Opening presents and giving presents bring so much joy. All the decorations and music are a wonderful way to enjoy the Christmas season. Although all these things are fun, there are more important things to remember. Jesus is the reason for the season!

There are innumerable Christmas decorations you can put up for Christmas. Amelia enjoys her Christmas tree the most out of all the decorations she owns. When I asked Amelia how many decorations she puts up in her room, she said, “As much as I can.” Amelia loves decorating her room for Christmas. Her parents think she should decorate her room the second or third week of November, or after Thanksgiving. She said the biggest decoration she has is her Christmas tree. Amelia thinks the best part of Christmas is being with her family.

There are lots of debates on when you should decorate for Christmas. There are also many decorations you can put up to show some holiday spirit! Amelia loves Christmas the most at JCS. She decorates on the first day of November and takes it all down the second week of January. Remember, the best part of Christmas is not all the presents, decorations, or food. The most important part is the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. On Christmas, we remember how Jesus was born to save us. From the day He was born, to the day He died and ascended into heaven, He was perfect throughout His entire lifetime!
