WORLDWIDE – Starting in 1973, the FIA World Rallying Championship is one of the most dangerous motorsport championships that a driver can partake in. The WRC provided a ground that many teams and drivers could build off of. Although there have been previous rallying events, the WRC united every major team and manufacturer to prove to the world how advanced and reliable their cars are.
Growing at an incredibly fast rate, the WRC had to create two groups to divide the pressure involved in each race. Group A was defined by the cars used being basically the same as those being produced in factories. Group B was far more dangerous with most cars exceeding 600hp. Group B was shut down after many drivers passed away.
Rallying is one of the most dangerous motoring events worldwide, but it provides a chance to drivers and manufacturers to show their skills to the world. The losses can be overwritten by the major accomplishments of each driver.
