JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Last week marked Jupiter Christian School’s Student Government (SGA) elections for next year’s members. This election determined the vice presidents, presidents and representatives for each grade. The election was a little bit different than other years because they reduced the number of class representatives down to three, so it was very competitive. This year’s election was filled with many amazing students that made for great candidates. The candidates took the election process very seriously! The hallways were lined with posters, they were handing out candy, talking to people at break about their plans, posting on social media, etc. All of the students worked very hard on their campaigns to make sure they had each student’s vote!
I talked to Maddox Morin, next year’s Student Government’s Senior President. Maddox ran for president because he wanted to set himself apart from the others and really step into a leadership role here at Jupiter Christian School. “I feel like I can make a big difference at this school, and I have a lot of new ideas for next year,” said Maddox. Maddox shared that he has put a lot of thought into what he will be bringing to JCS next year. “As someone who is a part of the student body and someone that has been going here for a long time, I have a good viewpoint and I will make good decisions for the student body.” Maddox shared that he was very surprised at the outcome of the Student Government election this year. “I didn’t think that I would actually have an effect on other people just by expressing my opinion and ideas.”
Congratulations to the sophomore election winners President Hunter Bohan, Vice President Brie Mestrovich, Reps Haston Carroll, Mackenzie Kendall and Gianna Mestrovich.
The Junior election winners were President Clayton Pinera, Vice President Michael Schack, Reps Cayden Alula and Maya Price.
And the Senior election winners were President Maddox Morin, Vice President Aubrey Pichler, Reps Courtney Grady, Brennan Gilday and Lauren Rice.
The Jupiter Christian school students and faculty cannot wait to see what these new Student Government members are going to bring JCS. Congrats to all 2024 SGA election winners!
