JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – JCS is known to be a small school, but that doesn’t mean JCS doesn’t have a mascot.
The school’s mascot is an eagle, the very bird America chose to make their own. This year Mark Mestrovich was chosen to be the eagle mascot of JCS.
Mark says his sister being a cheerleader is the reason why he was chosen to be the eagle, but we all know it’s his amazing spirit and love to learn about God which got him the job. Mark loves being the eagle because as he says, “I like making people laugh.”
Mark loves being the eagle because he can make more friends and get to know more people. Mark says that being the eagle is going great. He says, “I know a lot of people like the eagle.” In Mark’s free time he will either play video games, or try to find things to help around his house with, chores, math, homework, whittling, etc. Mark plays baseball and football. Mark says he’s playing for the Middle School Football team, and he plans on playing Middle School Baseball.
Mark says it’s not that hard to be the eagle, but it gets hot, and you can’t sit down because it chokes you a little bit, and it’s also hard to move around in the costume. Mark enjoys being the eagle to make people happy and make the students think school isn’t always boring. It can be fun too. To counter the heat in the costume, Mark drinks a lot of water, and if you are wondering how he drinks the water, he says “I take off half the mask, while I drink, you can’t really see my face, and I can’t really see the water bottle.”
That is what it looks like to be the mascot of the greatest Christian school in all of Jupiter, Florida.
