JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Bracen Evans is on the Jupiter Christian Varsity Swim team and is one of their top swimmers. Bracen has been swimming since he was young and has a very good time of 57 seconds for a 100-yard freestyle.

Bracen said that his favorite swim meet was at “Benjamin because the pool is very nice.” Bracen added that Danh is his favorite teammate. He says he likes Danh the most because they are friends and Bracen says that, “Dan is very funny, supportive and fast.” Bracen says that every time you breathe you add .3 seconds to your time so it is very important not to breathe and you will make faster times. Bracen says that the heat makes him slower so he likes a cold pool better to swim in.

Bracen explained his feelings to me about waking up early and said that he doesn’t like waking up early but it is better than the afternoon because it is warmer in the afternoon. Bracen thinks that the fastest technique is freestyle and that is also his favorite technique.

Bracen told me that freestyle is “a plain stroke.” He clarified all the different swimming techniques and said that there is freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke. Bracen’s favorite flexibility exercise for swimming is the finger-tip drag or the bow and arrow drill. Bracen’s favorite swim center is at his home swimming center, the North County Aquatic Complex.

In conclusion Bracen is an overall great swimmer on an amazing team. We are very excited to see Bracen and the entire Varsity Swim team compete this season. Everybody should definitely try to make it out to a meet.
