LAKE CASPIAN – In between Asia and Europe is the world’s largest lake, Lake Caspian. This lake is shrinking because of the great amounts of pollution. Offshore oil fields, radioactive waste, and untreated sewage are some of the main factors why pollution is so bad in this area. A photographer named Javan Mardi took photos of the lake to spread awareness and the importance of it. Over the span of 10 years, he brought the attention of people all over the world. This lake used to be one of the major connecting points between Iran and Europe for trade, but due to the pollution, the lake is no longer used for connections. As a result the fishing rate has significantly dropped. The lake that has been called mother lake for so long, is now not going to share her love because the people have not treated her right. The people on the shoreline love this lake but have not been taking care of it, and in return something they treasured is about to be lost.
