JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Varsity Basketball is a competitive level of high school basketball that athletes from JCS play and love.
Our varsity team is composed primarily of upperclassmen who have earned their place by showcasing shooting, defense, ball-handling, and teamwork. For our players, this is somewhat of a prestigious accomplishment that comes with significant dedication and rigorous practice schedules, including some weekend games. Sophomore player Noah Collins states, “Basketball is a sport that requires commitment, and to do that, we need these practices and these rough schedules to improve.”
Varsity basketball improves athletic skills and builds teamwork and discipline. Noah states that as a team, “we have developed good chemistry to the point where we pass the ball to one another.” Additionally, coaches play a crucial role in developing the players and preparing them for these games. Finally, Noah echoes this by stating, “Coach Mully is the coach that helped me improve and helped the other teammates that we know as juniors or seniors today as well.”
Colossians 3:23 mirrors basketball’s values well, stating, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord.” Noah responds, “Colossians reminds me that I need to give 100% in everything I do to honor God through my actions and effort.”
