JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – The Girls Middle School Basketball team is headed to the championship game against The King’s Academy. After finishing their regular season 6-1 (the one loss being against The King’s Academy) the team made their way to the semi-final (getting a bye from being the one seed). They played against St. Mark’s Episcopal School and won the game moving on to the Championship.
Even before winning the St. Mark’s game the girls team was confident that they would make it to the championship and even confident that they would win that game. Players Natalie Simmons (7th), Gracelyn Paldin (7th), Tenley Dillon (7th), and Anayah Spence (7th) all agreed that Rosarian was their personal best played game. Gracelyn stated that, “I think even though we lost to King’s, it was still our best game as a team because we learned better communication and teamwork.”
Throughout their season the team has had some big leads and wins. The win with the biggest lead this season was their first game against Palm Beach Day Academy (40-10) and Trinity Christian School (48-14). And their closest win being the first time they played St. Mark’s Episcopal School (30-24).
Natalie, Gracelyn, Tenley, and Anayah all also described how the season went as a whole as “good” or “pretty good.” The girls on the team also gave some examples of some of their favorite moments this season. Anayah said “The bus rides.” Tenley and Gracelyn both said “Beating Benjamin,” while Natalie said “Beating the teams that beat us last year.”
When asked how she thinks this season has brought her closer to her teammates Gracelyn responded with, “It brought me closer to them because I learned communication, and yeah I learned how to communicate with my teammates better. Gracelyn also said that she’s “So sad!” that the season is coming to an end, and Tenley agreed saying, “Yeah because we don’t get to play anymore.”
