JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, DECEMBER 7, 2022, – Christmas Spirit Week has rolled around, and the students and teachers have been going all out on their costumes.
A blow-up snowman, elves, grinches, and even a Christmas tree have all been present. Christmas colors, Christmas pajamas, Florida Christmas, ugly sweaters, and Friday’s allotted colors are the different themes for Christmas Spirit Week. Because the dedicated cheerleaders created a brand-new dance routine, the Christmas pep rally was equally as exciting. (This reporter got a sneak peek of the routine).
A number of students were polled on their opinions of the week and shared the following comments. Deborah Cohen was dressed as the Grinch and declared, “I love Christmas Spirit Week.” Riley Tress, representing the Junior class, claimed, “The 11th grade has the best hallway” after it was Christmas-theme decorated.
Zianna Wilkerson, a sophomore, remarked that the Christmas Chapel was “…nothing short of remarkable.” The middle school, high school, and elementary students performed Go Tell it on the Mountain. There were games and giveaways, with Brianna Nicole winning the pickle cotton candy prize, Deborah and Eliyahna Cohen winning Amazon gift cards, Landon taking home the tortilla blanket, and many other winners.
This week, it was not just the students who were having fun and dressing up. When questioned how she felt concerning Christmas week, Mrs. Best answered, “So far, I really like it. This is my first Christmas Spirit Week.” Mrs. Best showed her spirit by wearing her blue Christmas pajamas. Mr. Silvestri expressed his appreciation for Pastor Bill’s Christmas message to “spread Jesus.” He was outfitted in gray and black Christmas pajamas with a green Christmas sweater.
It is imperative to remember that the point of Christmas is not about the presents and gifts, which are great additions to the holiday, but Jesus Christ. Christmas is to celebrate Jesus and to remember His birth.
