WILLIAMSTOWN, KENTUCKY – The Ark Encounter R.E.A.C.H. Week trip was definitely one to remember. This trip started on Tuesday and ended on Friday. The chaperones were Dr. Vizcaya, Sra. Hessel, and a Youth Group leader named David. The trip began with two flights from PBI to Cincinnati. Once we arrived we went straight to the bowling alley and arcade. Once we got to the cabins we all went out to worship and make s’mores by the campfire.
That next morning we woke up early to go serve. We unpacked 35,000 individual muffins and we helped move boxes of bananas for the homeless. Later that day we went to the Creation Museum where we went to all of the exhibits and soaked up all of the information about how the world was created. We also got to go see all of the animals that they had there. Some of the animals being kangaroos, anteaters, and llamas. After that, we went back to the cabins and made s’mores by the campfire.
On Thursday, we got up and we drove to the Ark Encounter. Once we got to the ark it was beautiful. It was so cool to see a replica of what Noah actually built. We went to all of the exhibits and even got to see more animals like camels, goats, chickens and more. After that we had dinner at a barbecue place and once we got back to the cabins we went out by the campfire, worshiped and finished the day by making s’mores. Dr. Vizcaya said, “The worship time was beautiful.”
The second travel day was one of the busiest days out of all of them. We had to wake up at 3am to take off from Cincinnati at 6am. Once we landed in Maryland for our layover, we thought that we had an hour and a half before our next flight. Little did we know we had 10 minutes to go across a huge airport to get to our next gate. When we got there we found out that the gate had changed to another gate on the other side of the airport. We all ran and barely made it with no time to spare. After all of that we all made it back to Florida safely. David said, “I loved this trip. It was such a blessing to go with you guys.”
