FLORIDA – For my R.E.A.C.H. Week I went on the college tour, where as a group we toured ten colleges in four days. This trip was led by Mrs. Donahue and Mr. Silvestri and there were around 50 students on the trip. The colleges that we toured consisted of: Florida Atlantic University, Palm Beach Atlantic, Stetson, Embry – Riddle, Flagler, Florida State, University of Florida, Florida Polytechnic University, Southeastern University, and Florida Southern College. This was a great experience to go on as a Junior because I was able to get a feel for what kind of college campus and community that I will be looking for next year as I apply.
On this trip we were able to see a variety of campuses such as University of Florida and Florida State being large and Palm Beach Atlantic and Southeastern being very small Christian universities. I was able to have a lot of fun on this trip because I was touring the colleges with my friends. Personally I liked the larger campuses like University of Florida and Florida State a lot because of all the activities and opportunities that these universities provide.
This trip was also a great opportunity to bond with my fellow classmates, as we were often on the bus for long periods of time. I was able to get to know more of my peers and make more connections with them. I was able to ask some of my peers about their experience and this is what Chase Reinstein said about his experience, “My R.E.A.C.H. Week helped me think about my future after high school.” Gabriel Gani shared, “R.E.A.C.H. Week had a big impact on my life and will help me reach my goals.” Both of these students thought that this experience was useful because they think it will be able to help them reach their goals in life. From all the feedback that I have received on this trip, I can tell that it was enjoyed and is a great way to find what kind of college you are looking for.
