JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Chicken Parm is one of the most delicious meals you could ever hope to eat! Whether you are making it for your friends or family it can be used at any event and is guaranteed to be a hit! For starters, you’ll need to get all your ingredients. The ingredients include two skinless chicken breasts, rigatoni pasta (or spaghetti), salt, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, paprika, pepper, Italian seasoning, two large eggs, 1 cup of breadcrumbs (preferably Italian style), 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ½ cup grated parmesan cheese, 1 ½ cups marinara sauce, 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, 2 tablespoons olive oil, fresh basil or parsley, and an oven.

The first step is to preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Then proceed to prepare the chicken. If the chicken breasts are thick, slice them horizontally to get thinner pieces. Put all the seasoning in a bowl and flip both sides of the chicken breasts in them so that they are completely covered. Now it’s time to prepare the breading. Get three shallow bowls and in one add flour, in the second add the two eggs and beat them, and in the third one add the breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese and mix them around. Put each piece of chicken in the flower and cover both sides. Then dip the chicken in the eggs and fully coat both sides. Then proceed to coat the chicken in the bread crumb mixture pressing it lightly so that it sticks to the sides.

To fry the chicken, add olive oil (or the oil of your choice) to the pan and heat it over a large skillet at medium heat. Once the pan is hot, add the pieces of chicken and each side for 4-5 minutes until you achieve a golden-brown color and a crispy exterior. When the chicken has cooked, remove it from the pan and set it on a paper towel lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Next, it’s time to assemble the chicken. In a baking dish, spread a small amount of marinara sauce on the bottom. Then place the fried chicken breasts in the dish and spoon marinara sauce over each piece of chicken and top it with shredded mozzarella cheese. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
While you wait for your chicken to cook boil water in a pot and place your rigatoni in for about 10 minutes. Afterwards drain the pasta and add to a plate or bowl. Add olive oil and grated parmesan cheese to your rigatoni.

Once the chicken is ready place it on top of your rigatoni and garnish it with fresh basil or parsley. Now the chicken parm is ready to enjoy!
