JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – At Jupiter Christian School, the Softball season just ended. This year’s team had many beginners; while last year had many experienced players. This was a big change for those who were on the team last year, and they had to adapt to their surroundings.
This year the Softball team had only about 13 people and almost couldn’t have a team, but in the end they figured it out. Out of the 13 only 7 of them had played the year before, so there were many people who were brand new to the sport. So, through the season those who were here the year before got to improve while the new players got to learn all about the sport of softball.
Macy Lipsit is just one of the 7 players that had played the year before. Macy Lipsit played all over the field, but mostly as a catcher. This year was her first year as catcher, while last year she mostly covered 3rd base.
Daylin Goldberg on the other hand who is a close friend of Macy’s was one of the players who was brand new to the sport. She said, “I want to play next year, and I love playing.” Throughout the season Daylin learned to hustle while playing right field. She said, “My favorite thing was probably playing with all of my friends.” Daylin did a great job of learning and was able to understand softball very quickly. Daylin also said, “I think we did a good job playing, and I really enjoyed the chants that we did.”
Overall, this year’s Softball team had a total of about 4 wins, as well as one completely new pitcher, Victoria Kutsukos, and a semi-new pitcher Mallory Whittemore. This year’s team had an exciting season filled with laughter.
To sum it all up, this year’s Softball team had many new players that were given the opportunity to learn something new and enjoy themselves. We hope to see them again next year even better than before and watch how the team grows together as friends, teammates, and people all together!
