JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – JCS Cheer has had many improvements this year that have allowed the team to have many new opportunities!
The coaches had to make major decisions to make this team better and better. One of those is adding a competitive cheer team. This option gives these athletes another way to show off their skills and have more practice time to improve. These athletes are participating in this on top of sideline Cheer for Football and Basketball games.
Another addition to the competitive team is that it’s not only Varsity girls; it is also middle school. As Julia Busch said, “It bonds us together as one.” The competitive team is not sideline cheer. This is a routine that they will practice all year and get better each time they perform. This is a team of 18 girls and their first competition is in the beginning of November, and this is one of three competitions this whole school year.
They just got their choreography and they all love it. It was a long weekend of practice from 9am to 6pm both days. These girls are really putting in the work. Julia states, “It was physically hard on our bodies but it was worth it.”
These athletes have been working since day one. Over the summer the team got the opportunity to go to UCA camp. The team loved it because it was a good team bonding event. Julia says, “It was an amazing bonding experience for the Varsity team.” Some girls even got invited to go to All American. This is where you can fly out to cheer for different events such as a Christmas parade in Italy.
Overall these are very strong and determined athletes that always strive to get better every day.
