Jupiter Christian School has undergone many changes this year—the student’s opinions are vital.
Ryan Royston, an eighth grade student at Jupiter Christian School, has stated his numerous opinions on the changes to Jupiter Christian School’s look, curriculum, and staff changes in the 2024-2025 school year.
When asked if there were any new classes, Ryan Royston said that classes on finance and entrepreneurship were available for the first time this school year, but he, personally, did not take either of these elective courses. Mr. Royston said that in Jupiter Christian’s future, he would like to have a baking class as an elective. Stating his opinion on new staff changes Mr. Royston said that the new band teacher is amazing! But Ryan Royston simultaneously misses Mrs. Hoffman, the old band instructor who left the previous year in 2024.
Mr. Royston said that the curriculum is harder compared to the last year though praised his new, eighth-grade core-class teachers— those being Mrs. McClung teaching English and Honors English, Mrs. Beach teaching Science and Honors Science, Mr. Donahue teaching Social Studies, and Mrs. Reedy teaching Algebra Readiness, Algebra 1, and Geometry. Mrs. McClung was Ryan Royston’s favorite teacher out of the four. He also complimented the new renovations, speaking on the school’s new paint job.
While Mr. Royston said that there were no sports changes this year, he wishes they could add rock climbing while he’s still enrolled at Jupiter Christian. Mr. Royston thinks it would be a cool addition to the list of sports offered at Jupiter Christian School.
What would Ryan Royston want to see for JCS’s future? He considered what to say, then answered, “I’d like to see it become a very successful and popular school.”
