JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, August 23, 2022 – Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” This scripture means that people are meant to uplift and help their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Every person at the school should work on becoming a model of what this scripture details – as Mr. Murawski certainly has.
Mr. Murawski, a swim coach, former pastor, and the current Spiritual Life Director at Jupiter Christian has dedicated the past 17 years to helping others follow and pursue Christ. Mr. Murawski attended Liberty University to obtain his undergraduate degree and is currently working on his master’s degree from the same college. While teaching was great, Mr. Murawski felt God had more for him, and the opportunity arose allowing him to transition into a new and effective role where he is able to minister to all four campuses of Jupiter Christian.
“I can see Christ through you!” This statement is worthy of being said only to a certain few and yet Mr. Murawski is definitely deserving of the declaration. When asked how he plans his chapels, he stated, “A lot of it is planning ahead of time and really in prayer trying to ask God what He wants and what it is our students need.” Notice how he has not mentioned himself; his statements show that he has been putting God and we as students above himself, working to help us obtain and maintain a relationship with Christ.
Mr. Murawski expressed how he spends countless hours in the word trying to understand what the scriptures are saying and then goes on to develop a plan on how to illustrate the messages from the Bible in appropriate ways.
Note-taking is one of the newer implementations Jupiter Christian has made a requirement in chapel. This new protocol has been established to help the students who find themselves at a loss during a chapel sermon. “Note-taking has helped students stay engaged, including the students who say ‘Normally, I fall asleep in chapel, but now I have to stay awake.’ For me that’s a win.”
Concluding the interview, I asked, “How do you hope to impact the students that listen to you?” I hoped to learn Mr. Murawski’s end goal through all his sermons and preaching. He explained that, for those without a relationship with Christ, he wants them to know Jesus, and for those who do, he hopes to help them take the next right step. Mr. Murawski is an exceptional example of how God wants those who know Him to help others come to Him.
