JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – The 2024-2025 Women’s Varsity Golf team consisted of four girls from freshmen to juniors. They played their hearts out on the course and were determined to do as good as possible. They played as many matches as they could considering all the rain this season. And they were successfully led by their two coaches and their captain, Savanna Altman.
As the only sophomore on the team, Savanna Altman loves to play golf and says it is one of her favorite sports. When asked about the team she said, “Golf gives me a chance to grow a connection with the high school community.” She plays golf in and out of school but loves her team here at Jupiter Christian School.
Freshman Reese Rykse joined the team this year and said, “Golf is really fun because you’re out in the sun, and you get to be with your friends, but you also get to meet new people and hang out with them at the matches.” She described that even though she was not sure about trying out and joining the Varsity Women’s Golf team especially as a freshman, she is happy she did, and that the girls are so welcoming and nice.
Although the team this year was very small, they are hoping to grow it in the next few years. As the years go on, they are hoping to get better and continue on to more tournaments. These girls are a light both on and off the course and hope to grow and spread that light even more.
