JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – James Brandon is a Varsity Football player in the 9th grade at Jupiter Christian School. James said that Joshua Joseph is his favorite player and he said that Joshua always pushes everybody to do their hardest. James says that his main goals for this season are to get faster and run routes better. James’ most memorable game he has had this season was the game against Inlet Grove and he said that they kind of got humbled because they were way too cocky coming into the game and that they didn’t play super great and lost the game. James told me that his best skills are his speed and his worst skills are his catching.
The way James balances homework and football is by going to a lot of guided practices and getting extra help to maintain his grades. James shared that being part of the Varsity Football team makes him realize that you have to put in a lot of effort and you can not just “lolly gag.” He has been playing football for 8 years and wants to play through all of high school. James explained to me that his plans after the football season ends are to improve the stuff that he is not as good at like his catching, and he also wants to work on his speed training. He also told me that he will be doing track after football.
James said that since the beginning of the season he thinks that he has gotten better at route running and knowing his plays better. James also told me that he thinks his friend Steven has had the most improvement this season because he learned everything quicker and always gives it his best. I asked James if he could summarize his season in one word, and he said that one word would be positive.
