JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Having a community is an essential part of the holidays. They are made up of several types of people such as friends, families, teachers, and co-workers. Cherishing community is among Jupiter Christian’s values and is reflected by the school’s students, teachers, and administration throughout campus. These values help bring Christian life into perspective. Among the teachers who share this value is Mrs. Weston, who shared her views on community during the holidays.
During the interview, Mrs. Weston expressed how the community can “bring together those who do not have families and are in need of support” by providing a group of people they can engage with and impart a sense of belonging. She believes that the joy that lingers during the holidays is a pulling force that unifies people. Holiday activities such as baking cookies, caroling, gift wrapping, and putting up decorations all play a part in the unity the holidays bring. During these activities, people can learn more about each other while spending quality time and forming core memories. These moments, according to Mrs. Weston, create connections that help others feel seen and cared for, often filling the void left by missing family members or loved ones.
For Mrs. Weston, the holidays are more than just a time for festive celebrations; they represent the opportunity to strengthen bonds, deepen relationships, and live out the values of compassion, kindness, and love. She emphasizes that community is at the heart of the holiday spirit and that through service, support, and shared experiences, people can reflect Christ’s love for one another.
At Jupiter Christian, these same principles of unity, support, and care for others are instilled in students, teachers, and staff. As a school, it’s not just about academic achievement, but also about fostering an environment where Christian values like love, kindness, and generosity thrive both during the holidays and throughout the year.
