UNITED STATES – Since its inaugural season in 2004, Formula Drift otherwise known as Formula D has been America’s only professional drifting series.

The simplest way to define drifting is when the tires on a car lose traction due to the driver oversteering through a corner, maintaining control over the car while this is happening is what leads this action to be called drifting. The cars used in Formula D are all RWD and automatic transmissions are illegal to use.

Formula D is the only motorsport that allows drivers to professionally drift with limited restrictions. In Formula D, the spirit of competition is what keeps the sport alive.
