JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Furthering one’s relationship with God is arguably the most important thing on this earth. Neither school, sports, relationships, or anything else in this world is as important as an individual’s faith in Jesus Christ.
Junior students Luke Winters, Joshua Joseph, Noah Brown, and Joshua Gould have continued the tradition of holding Bible study at lunch on Fridays. Last year, Senior Hunter Wilkinson held Bible studies on Fridays during lunch, and each of these young men can attest to their spiritual growth from these groups. They expressed their enthusiasm to continue the tradition again this year, with the goal of furthering their knowledge of God, their faith in God, and others’ relationships with their Lord.
The Juniors started out the year doing Bible studies on Friday during lunch. Since there are four people available to preach on Fridays, one person teaches every week, and a rotation is made. But having Bible studies only on one day a week is not enough. With inspiration from a past principal who held Bible study before school in the mornings, the Junior students decided to hold a Bible study every Tuesday for thirty minutes. Consequently, more exposure to studying the Bible with friends exposes the members of the Bible study to more knowledge, better fellowship, and more integrity.
The original four Junior Bible Study leaders decided that they should not be the only ones teaching on Fridays. Other Juniors expressed interest in sharing what was on their hearts and minds. Sterling Lee and Xander Enger, both expressed a desire to teach others and encourage their peers. Since they started, both have become regular teachers on Fridays. On Tuesdays, the aim of the morning Bible study is not to preach to others. Instead, a smaller group of individuals come together and read through a book of the Bible in the hopes of gaining knowledge about it. Bible studies have grown the Jupiter Christian Community in their faith, and created an environment where faith in Jesus is encouraged and normalized.
