JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Sadie Minicucci a JCS sophomore gives her thoughts on the Homecoming Pep Rally
School spirit shines through the JCS students by sports, games, Powderpuff, chapel, but especially the Homecoming Pep Rally
The Homecoming Pep Rally is an annual event that happens at JCS. Many students look forward to this event when they express their joy in sports and share their school spirit. It is a time of the year that brings all the grades together to have fun. The Homecoming Pep Rally affects all the students in some way. It gets everyone excited for the football game and the dance. A sophomore, Sadie Minicucci, who is on the JCS Varsity Cheer team says, “It gets students hype for the game and excited for the HOCO dance.” The Pep Rally obviously plays a significant role in JCS Student Life. It provides students with a time to have fun and enjoy the life of high school along with supporting fellow friends and athletes.
Pep rallies are filled with cheer performances, games, and fall sports introductions. Senior Prefects and the school produce fun games for students to play. In this pep rally they had captains from each fall sports mummify their coach. This gave recognition to the fall sports and their captains along with having fun. Also, in the beginning of the pep rally Senior athletic prefect introduces all the fall sports team. This is a wonderful time for students to support other teams. Along with fun games it also gets students ready and excited for the powderpuff. This is an exciting time for students to engage with others and come together as a school.
Along with games, the Varsity Cheer team performs. Sadie says, “We put in a lot of hard work and dedication to perform a great routine.” This demonstrates the hard work the cheer team puts into making a routine. In their routine this year, they also included some of the football players. This created a bonding time where the football team and cheer team can unite towards the same goal. Also, in the Pep Rally the Cheer team does a cheer to get the student section more engaged. It provides a small taste of what football games are like and encourages everyone to come out and support their Eagles.
The JCS annual Homecoming Pep Rally is an experience that provides excitement for the future and bonding as a school shining in the school spirit to others.
