JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Tune Kaboom in the Cave of Doom is a play that Jupiter Christian School is hosting November 15-16. It is an adventure comedy that takes the characters on a funny journey.
Tune Kaboom is the play’s main character, who is a famous adventure explorer in the 1940’s who takes people into a cave. Then they all of a sudden get stuck in the cave and encounter a bunch of wacky characters. There are 17 people in the cast of the play.
Ms. Sust says that, “The moral of the story is a part of the twist of the story but it includes a lot about identity.” This includes finding your true self and the truth about who you are not who you want to try to be.
Ms. Sust shared that, “In a typical play practice I give announcements so everyone is up to date. Then they rehearse a block of the script that everyone already knows about.” They try to get most of the work done before their 2 hour practice is up.
Ms. Sust shared that, “Backstage is a lot of talking, but beyond that cast members are getting ready to come on stage or are getting their props ready for when they enter the stage.”
The director’s job is a role for people who can take on a lot of things. The director has a hectic role in the play from making sure everyone is prepared and ready to perform, and making sure everyone has costumes and props. The director has to take a lot of time out of their day to make sure that everyone and everything in the play is ready for the performance day.
Being in a play is a lot of fun and a lot of work. Everyone is important and everyone has to be patient and listening. Make sure you come out and support our actors who put in a lot of work into the play.
