JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Endurance and dedication are the key factors to a successful soccer team. The JCS Varsity Women’s Soccer team holds these qualities and more.
From the beginning of the season, their coach, Sarah Cohen, has emphasized the importance of fitness and endurance both physically and mentally. Sports require that perfect balance of physical and mental toughness. Athletes need not become prideful when playing an easy team but also not give up on themselves when facing a hard team. The mental game in soccer is very important and is something that the Varsity Women’s Soccer team has been working on all season.
Due to the fact that they play a wide range of talented teams, there must always be a constant urgency going into every game. One player that brings this urgency into every game is Juliana Tibbs, as a starting Varsity player since ninth grade, her experience and talent has given her a strong voice on the team. She is a leader that others trust and listen to. Her example of dedication to the team sets the tone for those below her, improving the overall morale and mindset of the team.
Another aspect of the JCS Women’s Soccer Team that makes them stand out is their encouragement within the team and kindness toward the teams that they play. Encouragement and kindness are huge contributions to the team’s success. When a team has a strong bond and love for each other the connection on the field is evident. As this team grows, this loving environment will be passed down and remain a defining factor of the team.
