BOYTON BEACH, FLORIDA – Last week was a really busy and fun one for me during HS R.E.A.C.H. On Monday, I went to a big tomato field in Boynton Beach. There were rows and rows of tomato plants, and I got to pick tomatoes. Everything was super fun except for when you would step on a smelly rotten tomato.
Then, on Tuesday, I did some cleaning. I helped clean the buses and spread mulch around a building at Urban Youth Impact. It was a lot of work, but it made the place look really nice and clean. I am glad we were able to help Urban Youth Impact in their mission.
Wednesday was different because I visited a place called Brookdale Senior Living in Palm Beach Gardens. I met lots of elderly people there, and we talked for a while. They told me stories about when they were young, and it was really interesting. I had some of the best conversations I’ve ever had there. They gave me a lot of advice but also told me a lot of fun and exciting things as well.
On Thursday, I helped pack boxes with things to learn about Jesus. We filled them up with wood toys and other things that would help these kids learn more about our Savior. I heard these boxes would go to kids all over the world, so that made me feel happy.
Finally, on Friday, we went to Shark Wake Park in West Palm Beach! It was so cool. We did all sorts of fun things in the water, like wakeboarding and swimming. I did a lot of the wakeboarding, but a lot of the kids did the kneeboards. The kneeboards were definitely a lot easier. We laughed a lot and had a blast.
Looking back, it was a week full of different things. I got to pick tomatoes, clean up, talk to elderly people, help pack boxes, and have fun at the water park. It was really awesome!
