JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – The starter of spikeball was Addie Hamilton “The Great.” When Addie started spikeball, a sport which he never played before, his duo Tyler Forsyth, showed him the ropes. Addie says spikeball is helpful and has many benefits – like learning how to work as a team and helping with good hand-eye coordination.
Addie and Tyler were looking in the school’s equipment shed and Tyler told Addie, “Let’s play this.” Addie had no clue what spikeball is, and tried it, thus spikeball was born! It was Addie’s idea to look in the shed, and Tyler’s to play spikeball. Addie plays spikeball at Tyler’s house, not at his own, because he doesn’t have a spikeball net at his house. Addie says there will be less people at the end of the year because people will get bored of it, and play something else. Addie says the most skilled people are himself, Hunter Johnson, Liam Abbott, Lucca Vastola, Tyler Forsyth, and Jude Gunn.
Lucca, the Master of Spikes, has played spikeball before, unlike Addie with no experience starting off. Lucca’s experience of spikeball off campus is a lot. He plays at his cousin’s house and his house. Lucca first started spikeball around four years ago. Lucca thinks we will have around the same amount of people at the end of the year. Lucca also believes we will have around five or six kids by the end of the year. Lucca thinks the leaders in skill are Addie Hamilton, Liam Abbott, sometimes himself, and Jude Gunn. Lucca says the benefits of playing spikeball are extra exercise, it’s a fun game, and you get to work with a team. That’s all about middle school spikeball at JCS.
