JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Freshman Joshua Purnell from Jupiter Christian is a part of the Varsity Lacrosse team! Josh has been super happy to be playing with the upperclassmen in his first year of high school.
Josh shared about how happy he is to be part of the team. He said, “It’s awesome being on the Varsity team as a freshman. I’m learning a lot from the older players.” When asked why he chose Lacrosse, he explained that he’s always loved watching and playing the game and wanted to try and play it at school. He said, “Lacrosse is fast-paced and exciting!” – that is why he likes it so much.
Being a Freshman on the Varsity team is pretty hard, but Josh did really well this season. He worked hard in practice and tried his hardest in games. He also said, “It’s hard balancing schoolwork and sports, but I’m getting used to it.” Josh also mentioned to me the teammate aspect of playing lacrosse. “My teammates and coach have been really supportive, which helps a lot.” Josh definitely was a team favorite by getting the nickname “JP” from all his teammates.
Josh also shared what his goals were for the season. He said, “I wanted to improve my skills and learn as many things as I can from my coach and the other players. And I’m really glad we won some games too!”
When he’s not on the field, Josh enjoys hanging out with friends and playing Brawl Stars. He said, “Playing Brawl Stars and hanging with my friends from the team made the season even more fun.”
Overall, Josh is a super cool freshman who’s been doing great on the Varsity Jupiter Christian Lacrosse team. Next year, Josh plans to play again and he’s going to be a player to watch out for as he is definitely going to have an amazing sophomore season!
