MIAMI, FLORIDA – Parker Ford, is a student at JCS. He is in his senior year, and was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large T-cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma on September 10, 2024.
Before he got diagnosed he was goofing off and doing whatever his flesh wanted. He shared, “I knew of Jesus but I never had a relationship with Him. I was pursuing the desires of my flesh and what the world approved of.” Some things he enjoyed doing before his sickness were fishing, spearfishing, hunting, and hanging out with friends and family.
When he and his family found out, Parker felt hopeless and depressed but he knew he had to come to God at the darkest time of his life. Several people helped bring a smile to his face and helped him stay strong. Parker shared, “I seriously don’t think I would be alive today without my mom.” Also the rest of his family has supported him, but Parker’s older brother saved his life by donating his bone marrow. Lastly his friends kept him distracted through the hard times. If you are ever afraid, read one of Parker’s favorite Bible verses that helped him throughout this year. One of these is Psalm 34:4, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.”
Right now in his life, he is in quarantine but after that he is hoping to go to college at PBA and pursue ministry and business. The first thing he is going to do after getting out of quarantine, Parker boldly says, is, “Go get Chipotle with my friends!” After he conquers cancer, he will share his testimony on social media so people know that they are not alone through their struggles. He states that “…throughout everything I have gone through, my faith has grown deeper with God.”
To conclude Parker will beat this disease and go on to do wonderful things in his life. We all love and pray for the best for him!
