What do you want to be when you grow up?

JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – On April 15, 2024, I interviewed elementary students about what they wanted to be when they grow up.

The elementary students were very excited to discuss their futures and eager to hear about other student’s interests. For those who were undecided, it gave them plenty of options to think about regarding future career choices. There were three main categories that seemed to be most voted for among the lower classes. The most popular career choices were teachers, sports related careers, and doctors.

The first and most popular choice among the elementary students was a sports career. They mentioned that their love of sports started at a young age through PE and summer camps offered at Jupiter Christian.  This foundation taught them important skills like sportsmanship, a variety of skills, and healthy competition. They were exposed to a variety of different sports through JCS and learned how to work together in teams and independently. They took those skills that they learned from JCS and applied them to gain confidence and improve.

The second most voted career choice among the elementary students is to become a doctor when they grow up. Community service is part of the culture at Jupiter Christian. We are taught the importance of helping others in our community and donating our time to save lives is a very rewarding career choice.  It is clear that the values we learn from JCS at an early age really do impact our lives in a positive way. By helping others we actually help ourselves by becoming  better people.

The third most popular career choice that the elementary students chose is teaching. Most of the students decided that they wanted to teach specials. Teaching is a very rewarding profession and the JCS teachers stand out for their commitment to excellence in providing the best education both spiritual and academically. The elementary students are very excited about teaching.

The top three career choices among elementary students have all been influenced by JCS values. They are careers that will provide students with valuable skills and with hard work, integrity, and a willingness to help others. Their futures will be bright!
