JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, August 22, 2022 – Mrs. Bloomfield is an English teacher here at JCS and has been here for five years.

Mrs. Bloomfield started her career at Florida Atlantic University and Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Florida Atlantic was her dream school and that is where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree. Mrs. Bloomfield started teaching at Jupiter Christian in August of 2018. She really enjoys working here at a place that appreciates God’s word. “A Christian environment is what I envisioned and having wonderful students who are kind and respectful, not afraid to talk about the Lord,” says Mrs. Bloomfield.

The reason she chose the 7 Habits as the summer reading is because she thought it would be a great self-help guide to jump-start our freshman year. “It will provide strategies that [students] will utilize throughout high school, academically and at home in their personal lives,” explained Mrs. Bloomfield. She thinks she portrays the 7 Habits, but sometimes it is a struggle. However, she tries to remind herself to do so – especially when she feels she is starting to drift away from her goals or she starts to feel overwhelmed.

Mrs. Bloomfield also thinks the 9th graders portray the 7 Habits as well, and she likes what she has seen so far. “The majority of my students are very proactive, which is Habit 1, which is a great thing,” says Mrs. Bloomfield. Her favorite habit is Habit 2 – “Begin with the end in mind” – because she has had personal experience with this habit. Also, the habit reminds you what is coming and what your most important goals are. She has used that to push and motivate herself to move forward.

A habit she said she needs to work on is Habit 7 – “Sharpening the Saw” – since she needs to remember to take time for herself and know her needs are important too. When talking about whether the author, Sean Covey, demonstrates the 7 Habits as well as he writes them, Mrs. Bloomfield thinks he does. Mainly because he shared how he got inspiration from his father who wrote the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. And he thought he could help teenagers form long-lasting habits.

To conclude, if you struggle with implementing good habits, try reading the 7 Habits. It might change your life.
