JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Bode Glinsky shares his opinion on what sports he thinks would be a good idea for the school to add.
He was first asked what sport he would personally want to be added to the school and he said, “I would love for a bowling team to be added to the school because I always thought it would be a great time for the people that joined it.” He was then asked what interest he has in bowling and he said, “It is a very fun game that I like to play with my friends so I think if we gave the students here an opportunity for that they would really like it.”
When he was asked what skills bowling helps develop he said, “It can help with accuracy because in order to hit the pins in the middle, you must roll the ball straight. It can also help with hand-eye coordination when rolling the ball.” The next question he was asked was what makes bowling unique from other sports we already have at the school and he replied, “It is a very unique sport because all the other sports at the school are all athletic and involve a lot of movement but bowling focuses on skill rather than physical abilities. This will allow for a wider range of students to play.”
The question he was asked next was why should the school put bowling on a competitive level and he said, “It would be a great opportunity to get people that have never played on a sports team to join one because not everyone is athletic enough to play on a team. But bowling can allow for anyone with an interest to play.” When he was asked what sport he thinks would attract the most interest among the students he said, “I would say pickleball because I know a lot of my friends like to play it including myself and I also know a lot of other students that are in my grade that have a love for the game.
The next question asked was how could adding new sports help students to feel included and he said, “Some students might not like the sports that are offered right now, but adding new ones will give the students a wider range of sports to choose from.” For his last question he was asked what sport would be the most fun to watch at school events and he said, “I think football is fun to watch but if I had to pick one that is not currently in the school, I would say rugby would be really fun to watch.”
