JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Crosby Sateren is a junior at Jupiter Christian School and has been a part of the baseball program since middle school. He was a part of the Varsity team last year and will be on the Varsity team again, being a key player in the lineup.
Crosby says that he has a lot of confidence going into this season and says that his swing is feeling good. The goals that Crosby has set for himself are very high as he stated that, “I plan to get a few home runs here and there, along with some good quality hits.” Crosby hopes to be able to obtain somewhere around a 300 point batting average and 3 or 4 home runs. He knows that these standards are set very high but he says that he is striving to be the best player he can be.
The goals for the team have also been set very high since a majority of the team are seniors this year and it is there last time to prove something. Crosby said the key to winning games this year is, “I think we need to focus on solid defense, as few errors as possible, and having a great offense that produces hits and runs against good pitchers.”
Having a solid defense is key to winning games this year and Crosby thinks that having a good defense will take, “Putting in the work at practice and not goofing off; that’s the key.” The team expects to win their district this year and hopes to make a push deep into the playoffs.
This season will be hard for Crosby as it is his last season playing with a lot of these seniors who he has been playing alongside for many years now. Crosby and the baseball team are excited to have fun and win games this season.
