Favorite Christmas Traditions

Favorite+Christmas+Traditions

JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Everyone has at least one favorite Christmas tradition, whether it’s going on vacation or opening a gift before Christmas. We all have something special that we do for Christmas. This article will share Rowan Krukeja’s, Livia Dunagen’s, Olivia Schnouer’s, Beau Dillon’s, and Kiley Dore’s favorite Christmas traditions!

To begin with, Rowan Krukeja’s favorite Christmas tradition is, “Opening one present on Christmas Eve.” She said that this tradition started due to everyone begging to open just one present before Christmas. Rowan’s favorite thing about this tradition is being with her family. To Rowan she enjoys being with her family and having fun together, as well as having fellowship with others.

Livia Dunagan enjoys going on Christmas vacations with her family. Something that is special to Livia about her tradition is that, “We get to experience new things together as a family.” Many people travel and go out of town during the holidays. Vacations are a way to unplug, settle down, think and focus on what’s important, and feel at peace. Livia enjoys going to new places and spending time with her family during Christmas.

Next, Olivia Schonauer said that, “We put cards on the Christmas tree.” She added that it’s a fun way to give out cards to people. Livy’s favorite part about her tradition is, “We get to hide the cards in the tree, and they have to dig them out.” This is Olivia Schonauer’s favorite tradition because it is interactive, fun and you get to hang out with family as you do it.

In addition, Beau Dillon loves to go to his grandma’s house with his cousins. Beau’s favorite part about his tradition is, “Getting presents and bonding with my family.” Beau said that something special about his tradition is, “My grandma and grandpa getting gifts more and more for their old and new grandchildren.” This is Beau Dillon’s favorite tradition.

Finally, Kiley Dore enjoys the Christmas pickle. You hide the pickle ornament on the tree, and come Christmas day, the first one to find it gets a reward. Kiley said, “It’s a really fun way to start off Christmas morning.” The Christmas pickle is also a good excuse to get the family together and have fun. Kiley also said, “My dad did it when he was a kid.” Which is cool the fact that they’ve carried on the tradition for so long.

To sum it all up, most favorite traditions include things or activities with family involved. Family is so important, and it’s important that they are always there to lift you up and to be by your side. Family is always a blast during the holidays. I can’t wait to continue my Christmas traditions this year. Merry Christmas!

Jael Wall
Jael Wall, MS Yearbook Staff
MS Yearbook Staff Class of 2029 Jael Wall is currently a 7th grade student at Jupiter Christian School. Many people like to call her "JJ" or even sometimes "Jail" as a joke. The year of her graduation is the year 2029. When she was about 6 years old she moved from Altoona Pennsylvania to Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Jael enjoys volleyball and softball. While out of school she does horseback riding, which is her favorite thing to do. She also enjoys design, art, mountain biking, and practically anything else that is active. After graduation she is thinking about possibly looking into business and design, but isn't really sure what she wants to do because she loves so many things. Jael hopes to visit Jerusalem some day and see all of the places Jesus was. She has two cats, one a boy who is 7 years old named Cinnamon, who they've had since practically his birth, and the other is a girl who is a 1 year old named Sugar, who they got the week of Thanksgiving. Her favorite baseball team is the Miami Marlins. One thing that is very important is spreading the word of God, and having a God founded country. Jael's favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 1:7 which says, "God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind." Her faith helps her to try to look at other people's perspective more, and be kind and caring, but also just at the same time. Some interesting facts about Jael are that she has three older brothers, her favorite color is sky blue, and her favorite animal is a horse.
