JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – A new and exciting club at Jupiter Christian has arrived! Sending Sunshine Club, a creative club for community service, gives students here at Jupiter Christian the ability to get community service hours for doing a simple and good deed.

Eden Price, president of the club, and Josiah Joseph, vice president of the club, have worked hard to establish and market this club. According to Eden Price, “Sending sunshine helps bring joy to older people around the world who either struggle with loneliness or sickness.” At the first meeting, over fifteen members joined in to send sunshine to elderly people around the world. The members sat down together in Mrs. Cich’s room and worked hard to create beautiful cards with sweet messages inside.

The goal of Sending Sunshine is to brighten the older generation’s days by sending them a creative card to make them smile. Sending Sunshine is a registered charity that aims to relieve the conditions of the older generations by providing companionship through handwritten cards. Each card is worth thirty minutes of community service hours. This is a fun and easy way to get a lot of community service hours. After these cards are made, they are sent out to the leaders of Sending Sunshine, and they then disperse them out to nursing homes and hospitals worldwide. Reading a sweet, homemade card never fails to brighten their day and put a smile on their faces.

Make sure to stop by Mrs. Cich’s room every Monday during lunch to sit in on this club and get to make and send out some sweet cards!
