JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – This year has been full of new experiences, but for Leighton Atkinson, one memory stands out the most. She remembers walking into her new school for the very first time and being amazed by how big it was. Leighton states, “My old school is nothing close to this school.” There were so many students, and it felt very different from her old school. Even though it was a little overwhelming at first, that moment is something she will remember forever because it marked the start of a brand-new chapter.
Leighton’s favorite subject this year has been Social Studies with Coach Rodriguez. She loves his class because he is “very nice, fun, and makes learning enjoyable.” His positive attitude and welcoming personality helped her settle in and feel comfortable right away.
Throughout the school year, Leighton has made many wonderful friends. Some of her closest friends include Isla, Charlotte, Stella, Stevie, and Mia. One of her newest friends is Charlotte, who has encouraged her and offered helpful advice—especially the reminder to “believe in yourself,” which is the best piece of advice Leighton has received this year. Her biggest challenge so far has been keeping good grades, but she is working hard to improve.
Her goals for this school year include earning stronger grades and making lots of new friends— and she’s already making great progress! Leighton attends Christ Fellowship Church and has enjoyed being part of school life, including playing volleyball. Her favorite elective has been art, where she gets to express her creativity. When asked which school has been her favorite, she didn’t hesitate—“this one.” With supportive teachers, new friendships, and personal growth, Leighton’s school year has been filled with excitement, faith, and memorable moments she will carry with her into the future.
