JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Forget lazy days by the pool—for seventh grader Coral Redman, this summer was packed with adventure, from exploring cloud forests and going to the beach in Costa Rica to tubing down cold creeks in North Carolina.
Coral is 12 years old and her birthday is May 30th. She spent the summer with her mom, dad, her brother, Everett, and her cat, a Devon Rex named Pumpkin. With so many different trips, Redman’s summer was anything but ordinary. She spent time with different family members and her cousin and even went to church camp, all while having plenty of fun along the way.
The first big trip of the summer was to Costa Rica with her parents and brother. While there, the family explored the famous cloud forests, hiking through the misty, jungle-like landscape. They also spent time on the beaches, soaking up the sun in the tropical climate.
Later, Coral headed to Bryson City, North Carolina, with an even bigger group: her parents, brother, cousin, and grandparents. Her favorite part of this trip was something she can’t do in Florida. “The creek was really cold,” she said, remembering the surprise of the chilly mountain water. Her family also went tubing, which led to a hilarious moment when her grandpa and cousin fell off their tubes.
Her summer also included a week at church camp in Okeechobee, which was a different kind of adventure. There, she spent time with her cousin Olivia and made new friends in her cabin. Besides having fun on the trampolines, she felt like she grew closer to her cousin, her cabin mates, and God. “My summer was really fun and I can’t wait to do more fun stuff in the years ahead!” Redman said.
From tropical forests to cool mountain waters, Coral Redman’s summer was full of fun and new experiences. She not only got to travel and try new things, but she also spent quality time with family and friends, creating memories that will last long after the summer ends.
