After School Activities

After+School+Activities

JUPITER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – On January 25, 2024, I interviewed Alison S., Rowan C. and Olivia S. about their after school activities, and they all said that they played sports.

They are very active and highly competitive and have contributed their time and energy into each of their extracurriculars. They consistently improve their skill sets in order to advance and stay active for the following season. They are truly dedicated to their sports of interest.  Alison is a gymnast, Livy plays JCS Volleyball and Rowan is involved in Martial Arts.  They all agree that you have to have a true interest, be driven and work your hardest in order to be the best you can be.

As far as athleticism, it’s important to keep practicing to stay competitive and on top of your game.  It’s also important to stay healthy and eat nutritious foods and get your sleep so that you are less prone to injuries and remain strong. Academics are equally important when you’re involved in a sport and you need to work hard on time management skills in order to keep your grades up and get assignments done on time while not missing any practice time.

Each of the girls became interested in their sport for different reasons but they all have a commitment to themselves as well as to their coach, instructors and teammates.  They have all developed special bonds because of sports. Their coaches and instructors teach them important skills and the time they spend together with teammates makes them cohesive.  They learn how to both win and lose.  They understand the importance of a healthy competition.  They are also learning discipline and responsibility along the way.  There is also a benefit when these girls graduate and select a college they would like to attend in the future. They may even be able to earn scholarships and are a more well rounded student.
